Lyrics
For most of my days, I tried to change, how I thought You saw me.
Holding my kids hand, I understand, how You've always seen me.
And how much You love me… and why You died for me…
Now I see it! How much You love me, now help me believe it.
Now I get it! How much You love me, now help me to let it…
Change me. Change me! Help me see, how much You love me!
I've spent many a day, working my way, back into your grace.
But You run up to me, and before I can speak, I feel Your embrace.
I know I'm not worthy… how could You die for me?
Now I see it! How much You love me, now help me believe it.
Now I get it! How much You love me, now help me to let it…
Change me. Change me! Help me see, how much You love me!
When it all comes crashing down, and my world falls apart.
I remember Your love for me, and how You hold me in Your heart!
I know I'm not worthy… how could You die for me?
Now I see it! How much You love me, now help me believe it.
Now I get it! How much You love me, now help me to let it…
Change me. Change me! Help me see, how much You love me!
About This Song
At the risk of sounding cliche, my life forever changed when my first child was born. I remember looking down at this sweet little face and being overwhelmed by a love I didn't know I had in me. As I rocked this beautiful gift from God the proverbial light bulb went off and I had an epiphany.
It hit me like a ton of bricks, this is how God sees me! This is why He could die for me and love me unconditionally. Jesus made it a point to call God "Abba" or Father. It is a powerful picture of how much He loves us and how He sees us.
Now that I understand, in some small way, how God sees me and how much He loves me, I can let it power me through the hard times in this life and transform me into a better version of myself that tries to be more loving like Him.
- David Beall
"For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love." - Romans 8:38
